Monday the crosstown clash was split between the Seymour Rogers Lady Apache basketball players and the Eisenhower Lady Warriors.
The eighth grade B team game came down to an overtime free throw for a Lady Apache win.
The game was tied 14-14 at the end of regulation and both teams scored a basket in overtime. But a late Warrior foul led to an Yuly Molina free throw for the 17-16 Lady Apache win.
Illiana Azarte led the Lady Apaches with 10 points, Yuly Molina scored five and Zoe Laird scored two for the Lady Apaches.
Scorers for the Lady Warriors were Ashley Romero, Angel Luna, and Lorena Meza with four points each, and Yuridia Rayas and Alina Alaniz with two points each.
The eighth grade A game was dominated by the Lady Warriors. Eisenhower came away with a 37-14 win.
Trinity Olvera led the Lady Warriors with 19 points, Madysen Hammond scored 12, and Angel Luna, Rebecca Davis and Shiaa Dunlap each had two.
The Lady Apache seventh grade A team jumped out to an early lead and made it stick in a 33-28 win.
The Lady Apaches took a 12-2 lead in the first quarter, but the Lady Warriors cut the lead to 21-14 at half.
Defense picked up in the third quarter of both teams, and the Lady Warriors trimmed another point off the Lady Apache lead by the end of the third quarter, 27-21.
Eisenhower cut into the lead in the fourth, but the Lady Apaches were able to keep their lead in a 33-28 Seymour Rogers win.
Rae Rae Dean led the Lady Apaches with nine points, Jaylani West and Ana Vela Armendariz each scored seven, Viviana Favila had six, and Evelyn Sandoval scored four.
Haiden Lyon led the Lady Warriors with 12 points, and Maliyah Mullens scored eight and had 12 rebounds.
