The Saints and Lady Saints traveled to El Dorado Saturday to face Butler, and both teams fell short.

The Lady Saints lost 69-63. Seward jumped out to an early 17-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Grizzlies shut Seward down in the second quarter and took a 29-25 lead at half.

The Lady Grizzlies continued to outpace the Lady Saints in the third quarter to take a 52-41 lead, and the Lady Saints cut the lead in the final quarter but could not overcome the Butler advantage. The Lady Saints continued to rely on the three-point shot and only made six of 31 attempts.

The Saints also fell to the Grizzlies, 68-50.

Seward fell behind early and never recovered, trailing 38-19 at half. The two teams played even in the second half, but the damage was already done.

Seward shot 31 percent while the No. 18 Grizzlies shot 51 percent.
