Seward may have been the underdog Wednesday night when the Saints hosted the No. 3 Cowley Tigers, but it was hard to tell. The program was only playing its third game in school history and battled the Tigers in a 1-0 loss.

Cowley and Seward were balanced in attacks in the first half with both teams having about equal time near the other’s goal. But Cowley found a seam at the 27 minute mark of the first half and landed a goal to take a 1-0 lead.

The Saints had several shot opportunities of their own.

The official kept control of the physical game by handing out multiple yellow cards.

Seward goalkeeper Bruno Mestres kept Seward in the game with four crucial saves, but the Saints could not land the ball in the net and fell to 1-2 with a 1-0 loss.
