After giving up two first-half goals, the Lady Saints shut down the No. 18 Cowley Lady Tigers the rest of the way, and Seward had three golden chances for goals in the second half but missed on all three in a 2-0 loss.
Natoya Atkinson had a penalty kick glance off the left upright.
“From Game 1 until now, we progressed each game,” Seward coach Derek Talcott said of the first soccer season ever in the history of SCCC. “That’s exactly what we want. We are getting hard work from each one of them. They are buying in to what we are selling. If we score that penalty, it’s a different game. We are getting chances and taking steps forward.”
Seward is 0-3 in its first season.
