Seward watched leads fade away early against Garden City Wednesday in the Greenhouse, but a late surge in the fourth and fifth sets led to a Jayhawk Conference victory, 3-2.

After trailing most of the first set, the Lady Saints pulled ahead late, 23-21.

The Saints had a shot at set point, 24-22, but Garden City ended the set with four consecutive points to earn a 26-24 win over the Lady Saints.

Seward started to pull away in the second set and led 24-21 late with three consecutive shots at set point only to see the Lady Broncbusters put together another rally and tie the set 24-24.

But this time the Lady Saints finished strong to tie the match 1-1 with a 26-24 win.

Garden City was able to take another two-point victory in Set 3, 25-23, and only needed one more set to take the match.

But the Lady Saints saved their best for last and tied the match 2-2 with a 25-18 win in the fourth set.

The fifth set started with another back-and-forth battle, but the lady Saints took control late and secured the victory with a 15-11 win in Set 5 for a 3-2 match win.
