Eisenhower runners compete in Hays meet

Tuesday the Eisenhower Warriors boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Hays to compete in the Hays Invitational Meet.  The seventh grade girls finished second as a team. 

Sophia Mercado had a fifth-place finish in the mile running a time of 6:56.

Zoe Brown placed 14th with a time of 7:39.

Rachelle Groves placed 15th with a time of 7:42.

Isabella Camacho placed 16th with a time of 7:43.

The eighth grade girls finished second as a team. 

Leading the way was Ashley Batista placing eighth in the two mile followed by Julieana Hernandez collecting her first medal of the season finishing in 10th place. 

Both seventh and eighth grade boy’s teams finished in fifth place. 

Eric Baeza finished 13th in the mile, and top eighth grade boy runner was J’kobe Contreras running the two-mile in 15:30.

Edel Gonzalez ran the 2 mile in 15:35. 

Cesar Avila shaved off over a minute off his time in the mile race.
