The Liberal Lady Redskin volleyball team fell to 3-8 on the season after a rare home loss to Guymon Tuesday.

The Lady Redskins played shorthanded with Elle Hatcher sidelined for the season with a knee injury and Keyona Hall also in street clothes on the sideline for Tuesday’s contest.

The Lady Redskins took an early lead in the first set and held it until midway through the set when Guymon finally took a lead.

The Lady Redskins struggled down the stretch and dropped the first set 25-19.

Liberal again took a lead early in the second set, but the Lady Tigers battled back again to take a late lead, 24-21. But the Lady Redskins rallied and scored four straight points to take a 25-24 lead and had a chance to win the set with one more point.

But the Lady Tigers fought off the set point and scored three consecutive points to come away with the 27-25 win.

The Lady Redskins faltered early in the third set, and the Lady Tigers jumped out to a 10-point lead, 15-5.

The Lady Redskins kept the difference there but could not cut into the lead the rest of the way and fell 25-15.

The Lady Redskins will return to the home court Saturday for a tournament. Action begins in The Big House at 9 a.m.
