The Lady Redskins hosted Garden City, Dodge City, Southwestern Heights, Meade and Hugoton Saturday for a volleyball tournament and came away with a 2-3 record.

The Lady Redskins opened against Dodge City 25-17, 25-22. Liberal had a lead over the Lady Red Demons late in the second set but could not hold off a Dodge City rally.

The Lady Redskins faced Hugoton in their second match of the day and fell behind early in a 26-24 loss in the first set. But the Lady Redskins rallied to a 25-11 win in the second set and took the decisive third set 25-14.

Liberal then faced Southwestern Heights and came away with a 25-17, 25-21 win.

Liberal finished pool play against Meade and dropped the first set 25-15. The Lady Redskins improved in the second set in a back-and-forth battle, but Meade earned the final two points for a 25-23 win.

With a 2-2 record, Liberal was the fourth seed in bracket play and faced top seeded Garden City.

The Lady Redskins kept the match close but could not finish plays at the net. Liberal suffered from a number of calls in the net as well as the inability to deliver kills, and Garden City advanced to the championship by defeating Liberal 25-18, 25-16.

Meade defeated Dodge City in the other semi-final, 25-23, 25-10 but fell to garden City in a three-set championship match, 25-12, 19-25, 25-19.
