The Eisenhower Warrior seventh grade boys traveled to Hays Saturday for a second round meeting with Hays and Great Bend. 

The Warriors took on Hays in the first game matching Hays to draw at 7-7 after the first quarter. The next two quarters saw the Warriors struggle offensively as the Falcons pulled away for a 41-24 win. 

Christian Gonzalez Moreno led the Warriors with 20 points While Chris Moreno and Matthew Robledo each added two points. 

The Second game against Great Bend had the Warriors controlling the tempo and the lead throughout the contest:  Leading 37-33 with 30 seconds left in the game, the Panthers had two series on their side of the court where they capitalized on rebounding to take their first lead of the game and defeating the Warriors 38-37.   

“We had opportunities to put this game away, but in the end defensive rebounding proved to be a crucial misfire,” Warrior coach James Babinec said. 

Leading the Warriors against the Panthers was Christian Gonzalez Moreno 23 points, Matthew Robledo six points, Chris Moreno four points while Chase Mertes and Julian Loya added two points each. 

The Warriors continue the season Monday night at the "MAC"  (MacArthur Elementary)  and on the road Thursday against Horace Good.
