For the second straight day in Oklahoma City, the Bee Jays had a close game and a blowout Thursday, and just like Wednesday, they won both.

The Bee Jays had little problem with the Norman Lake Rats, cruising to a 15-0 win.

The Lake Rats struggled on the mound early, and the Bee Jays racked up five runs in the first inning, another run in the second, six in the sixth and three more in the seventh for the win.

Jake Schulz homered in the win, and Jack Malone turned in a three-for-four performance at the plate.

Hayden Arnold kept the Lake Rats off the scoreboard with four innings of shutout pitching including eight strikeouts.

The final three innings were pitched by Dylan Johnson, Kyle Duffey and John Kelly.

The second game of the day was more competitive, but the Bee Jays were able to hold on for the 4-2 win.

Caeden Trenkle continued to help the Bee Jays get off to fast starts as the lead-off batter with a single and stolen base in the first  inning. He scored on a Wyatt Grant single, and Trenkle had an RBI of his own in the second inning.

Liberal added another run in the third inning and finished their scoring with a run in the fifth for a 4-0 lead.

The Pelicans finally broke through with a run in the fifth and another in the sixth, but Payton Strambler threw a shutout seventh to secure the 4-2 victory.

Aaron Funk pitched four shutout innings for the win.

The Bee Jays will take the weekend off before hosting the Denver Cougars Monday at Brent Gould Field.
