The Liberal boys soccer team traveled to Wichita to take on Bishop Carroll on Thursday and came away with a 1-0 win. 

Liberal had nine shots on goal and seven keeper saves. 

The lone goal of the game was scored by A.J. Ramirez on a penalty kick in the second half. 

“I felt the team came ready and well prepared to play against a very tough and talented Bishop Carroll team,” Liberal coach Lori Navarro said. “Our defense was tested all game, but they communicated well and helped keep the ball out of our net. We still have a lot of work ahead of us but this was a well played game.”

The Liberal JV soccer team competed in Wichita against Bishop Carroll on Thursday, and topped the Golden Eagles 1-0. 

The Redskins had 19 shots on goal with three keeper saves in the game. Samme Tesfay scored the lone goal of the game assisted by Eli Aguilar.

The Redskins will play their first home game Tuesday against Western Athletic Conference rival Dodge City. The junior varsity will begin at 5 p.m. with varsity to follow.

Liberal will host Garden City at 5 p.m. Thursday.
