The Seymour Rogers Apaches jumped out to an early lead but had to withstand a late surge from the Warriors before coming away with a 42-31 win. Jakyree Washington and Adrian Garcia sparked the Apaches early with first quarter threes, and the Apaches built a 12-7 lead.
Garcia connected on another three in the second quarter, and the Warriors struggled to get quality shots against the Apache defense. Hudson Rice dominated the glass and limited the Warriors to one-and-done possessions, and the Apaches had a 25-13 halftime lead. Gabriel Silva-Aguirre knocked down a three for the Apaches in the third quarter, and the Apaches were able to extend the lead to 34-19. But the Warriors battled back with a strong fourth quarter effort from Richard Forbes who knocked down a three and added two more baskets to cut the Apache lead to five, 36-31.
The Apaches allowed the comeback by missing eight free throws in the fourth quarter, but Hudson Rice finished with four straight free throws, and Manuel Marta scored the final basket for the Apaches in the final seconds for the 42- 31 win. Rice led the apache with 12 points. Andres Castorena scored eight. Forbes led the Warriors with 17 points.
