Maedeen McClure finished the game on the mound allowing one hit that would score the final run to end the game on the run rule. Liberal committed  five errors in the game.

“We knew that Heights would be a very tough game,” Liberal coach Tommy McClure said. “Most of their girls play on high level teams during the summer, and they have that championship swagger when they step on the field. The two pitchers we faced were legit girls. It is hard to simulate that speed and movement in practice. Game 1 showed us where we could be at. Take away that bad inning, and maybe even score the run early, and that confidence would’ve been different. In Game 2, we started working on strategies that we will need for the season. It also showed us where we are and what we need to work on. Mostly we will be getting back to work with hitting and the short game. We fix those and build off the positives, and we will be competitive.”
