The Redskins are still looking for a Western Athletic Conference win after dropping a pair to Hays Friday.

Liberal struggled in the opener to get hits and lost in six innings, 10-0.

Hays scored two runs in the first inning with Braden Holder on the mound for Liberal.

The Indians added two more runs in the third and five more in the fifth.

The Indians put the game away by run rule with a run in the sixth.

Liberal only had four hits in the loss including hits from Aaron Barboza, Shay Kerr, Oscar Rubio and Holder, but couldn’t score a run in the 10-0 loss.

Liberal was hammered early in Game 2 and fell 15-2 in five innings.

Hays scored 12 runs in the first inning while Kwami Williams struggled with location. Williams allowed seven runs on just two hits and four walks and never recorded an out before being relieved by Hunter Huskey.

Huskey was able to get out of the inning but only after allowing five more runs.

Hays added two more in the second inning off Izzy Rotolo before the Redskins finally scored a run in the fourth to cut the lead to 14-1.

But Hays scored in the bottom of the fourth, and after Liberal only managed one run in the fifth, the game ended by run rule, 15-2.

Erick Baca had a two-hit game for the Redskins, and Brooks Kappelmann had a double.

Holder had an RBI in the loss.

Liberal wraps up WAC play May 11 with a trip to Dodge City.
