The Lady Redskin golf team traveled to Hays and Smoky Hills Country Club to kick off their season at the Hays High School Invitational Girls Golf Tournament Tuesday.

The field was 51 golfers from 11 teams in this year’s event including Atwood, Dodge City, Garden City, Goodland, Great Bend, Hays, Hays-TMP, Junction City, Liberal, Salina Central, and Salina South.

All four LHS players recorded career best scores on the day.

Sophomore Scarlett Carr shot a 106 (T24th) to lead the Lady Redskins, bettering her last season best score by 23 strokes.

Senior Addy Lopez carded a 108 (T27th); six strokes better than her previous best. Sophomore Cali Gonzales improved by 15 strokes with a 136. And Freshman Aniya Stegman, playing in her first-ever tournament, recorded a 156.
