ELKHART – Dixie Elease Boaldin, 92, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2026 at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

She was born Sept. 4, 1934 to Richard Victor and Opal (Rice) Clampitt.

She was a graduate of Elkhart High School.

She married Johnny Boaldin June 1, 1952. He preceded her in death.

She was a strategic part of every activity at the farm, and everyone worked together to work cattle, farm, and harvest crops.

She loved her flower beds and would can many vegetables every year from her abundant garden.

She was involved in the First Baptist Church in Elkhart where the family attended regularly. Dixie’s faith was woven into the way she lived her life, with a gift of reaching out to many elderly family, friends, and neighbors, entertaining many for birthday and holiday dinners and transporting some to doctor visits, shopping and other occasions.

Survivors include her children: Lana Davis, Elkhart, J. Mark Boaldin and wife, Tara, Garden City, Ciana Merrell and husband, Kirk, Amarillo, Texas, Steven Boaldin and wife, Jennifer, Guthrie, Okla., and Thon C. Boaldin and wife, DeLane, Elkhart; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren, with one coming in October.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter Jonna Lynn; brother, Victor Clampitt; and stepsister, Norma Jo (Clampitt) Barlow Simons.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Elkhart, with Pastor Ed Richards and Pastor Larry Olson presiding.

Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026 at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
