Firefighters from three Texas County, Okla., communities responded to a fire Monday morning between Goodwell, Okla., and Guymon, Okla.

Along with those communities, firefighters from Texhoma, Okla., at 10:35 a.m. Monday, responded to the fire, and Guymon Fire Chief Grant Wadley said the fire located at 2433 Road Z was noticed by a passerby who noticed smoke coming from the residence.

“On firefighters’ arrival, they found a single-wide mobile home with fire extending throughout the interior of the home,” he said in a press release. “Firefighters at the time were also dealing with 20 to 30 mph winds.”

Between the three departments, Wadley said the fire was contained just to the mobile home in which the interior of the home was a complete loss.

“The home, belonging to Glenn Kingsland, was not occupied at the time of the fire,” he said. “Firefighters remained on the scene for two hours assuring no fire extended further than the mobile home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Estimated loss of the home and contents is $10,000.”
