Liberal only needed about 20 seconds to score its first goal, and the scores kept coming in a 9-0 win over Alva, Okla., Tuesday at Redskin Field.

The Lady Redskins put in two goals in the first three minutes of the game, but the Lady Goldbugs were able to fend off attack after attack by the Lady Redskins for the next 20 minutes.

After multiple missed opportunities, the Lady Redskins finally broke through with their third goal of the first half and then pounded in two more by halftime to take a 5-0 lead.

The Lady Redskins opened up the second half with the same intensity they showcased in the first, and they kept the ball near the Alva goal.

Despite several missed shots over the goal and narrow misses beside the goal, the Lady Redskins continued to find loose balls in the box and added another pair of goals early in the second half to take a 7-0 lead.

The Lady Redskins used a strong attack with lob passes in the middle, but they were called for offsides multiple times which prevented one-on-one opportunities.

But the Lady Redskins continued to push to the center and eventually broke through for two more goals to take a commanding 9-0 lead.

Liberal made massive substitutions the rest of the way, and the Lady Goldbugs were able to avoid the mercy rule.

Liberal won 9-0 to improve to 6-4-1 on the season.

Liberal travels to Thomas More Prep today.
