Linda Lou DeCamp, 75, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024 at her home in Liberal.

She was born Feb. 25, 1949 to Junior and Naomi (Lutz) Wilson.

She married Daryl DeCamp July 20, 1973. He survives.

She worked for Beech Aircraft until Beech left Liberal in the mid-1980's. She also worked as a hairdresser and babysitter for many years.

She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she was the 2007-2008 Woman of the Year and was recognized for her outstanding service as President in 2019. 

She was also recognized as an Unsung Hero of Liberal.

She worked endlessly to raise funds for the Liberal Cemetery Directory. 

She enjoyed camping at Meade Lake and tending to her flower garden.

Survivors also include daughters, DarLynn Beaty and husband, Rodney, Liberal, and Cheryl Dreitz and husband, Ragan, Liberal; sisters, Sally Wilson, Brooksville, Fla., and Cindy Hardin and husband, Curtis, Liberal; three granddaughters: Briana Martinez and husband, Nick, Kileigh Beaty, and Kaitlynn Dreitz; grandson, Zachary Dreitz; great-grandson, Zayden Martinez; and great-granddaughter, Zayleigh Grant.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters: June Reynolds, Vickey Kimberly, and Judy Emrya.

• Per Linda's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Family & Friends Gathering to celebrate Linda's life will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 at First Southern Baptist Church in Liberal.
