Opal Hall, 85, died Friday, October 11, 2024 at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
She was born Nov. 15, 1938 to Paul and Julia Stoddard.
She married George L. Hall April 8, 1962. He survives.
She graduated from Moscow High School in 1956.
She worked a short time at Epworth Hospital in Liberal before taking employment with the Stevens County Sheriff's Office. She would later go to work in the County Clerk's office.
She was later appointed by the Kansas Governor to serve as the county clerk when the presiding clerk retired, a position she held until her retirement.
She served on the Board of Directors of the Southwest Guidance Center for several years, receiving awards for years of service and commitment and the Roy and Myrtle Parsons’ trust.
She enjoyed working in the yard and attending the activities of her grandsons.
Survivors also include son, Jason Hall and wife, Sharmilla, Elkhart; grandsons, Garrett Hall and wife, Yancie, Elkhart, and Weston Hall; brother-in-law, Donald Hall, Hugoton; sister-in-law, Guylene Stoddard, Lenexa; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and seven brothers and sisters: Mary Louise Glover, Marvin Ragan, Kenneth Ragan, Christine Munson- Suddeth, Jackie Stoddard, Katherine Sickler, and Elven Stoddard.
• A Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2024 at First Christian Church of Hugoton, with Pastor Patty Lahey presiding.
Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, and from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024 at Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton.
