David Allan Swanson, 68, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2024 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born Aug. 22, 1956 to Lyle and Leah (Castor) Swanson.
He married Cynthia Hanna July 1, 1978. She survives.
He graduated from Liberal High School in 1974.
He worked as a warehouse manager for several businesses.
He was an avid book reader and enjoyed puttering around in his garage.
He was big fan of both the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Minnesota Vikings.
Survivors also include son, Christopher Swanson and wife, Haley, and their children: Payton Zapata (Humberto), and Hanna Swanson; daughter, Amber Engelman and husband, Brandon, and their children: John, Rachael, Sophie and Riley Engelman; three brothers: Randy Swanson, Mark Swanson, and Brad Swanson; and sister, Marie Swanson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
• Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024 at Faith Tabernacle Church at 514 N. Kansas Avenue in Liberal, with Pastor Rex Petty presiding.
A private family graveside service will follow.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Shriner Children’s Hospital in care of the Hornung Family Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
