Eugene "Gene" Morris Jr., 81, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025 at his home in Liberal.
He was born Nov. 17, 1943 to Eugene and Rosetta Morris.
He married Susan Hankins Dec. 13, 1991. She survives.
He was employed at Johnnie Fetch Motors and Chrysler Corner for 40 years.
He loved fishing, drag racing, and Clint Eastwood movies. He always had a "project" car to work on.
He loved his grandchildren and spent many hours playing or laying on the floor and coloring with them.
Survivors also include sons, Eugene "EJ" Morris, III (Jennifer), Liberal, and Tyrone Eugene Morris (Lisa), Salina; five grandchildren: Ily Morris, Destan Morris, Jason Ruiz, Tahlia Morris, Tayton Morris; sister, Doretha Barnes, Brother, Alonzo Morris; stepdaughters: Aleisa Love and Vicky Love; stepson, Robert Love Jr.; honorary son, Monty "Scooter" Goree; brother-in-law, Bobby Adams; and many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Marge Hankins; father-in-law, Joe Hankins; brothers, CL Morris and William Morris; sisters: Martha Lee, Georgia, Rosie Jean, Ceatrice Ernestine; and stepsons, Danny Love and Larry Smith.
• There will be no public viewing as cremation has taken place.
Celebration of Life services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 at Bibleway Church Of God In Christ.
