ULYSSES – Norma Lee “Toy” McCauley, 93, died Monday, March 10, 2025 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
She was born Dec. 27, 1931 to Fred Norman and Anita Helen (Cotton) Hammer.
She married Robert “Bob” McCauley June 7, 1950. He preceded her in death.
She helped with the family custom harvesting business and took many home cooked meals to the field, worked at Gray and Rosel and The Hutch.
She enjoyed tending to her gardens, both flower and vegetable, and canning the fruits of her labor.
She enjoyed going to basketball games and was a KU basketball fan.
She was an active member of Shelton Memorial Christian Church and helped with the annual bazaar.
Survivors include sons, Tim McCauley and Kim Keusler, and Randy McCauley; sisters: Gloria Ford, Mary Wieland and husband, Charlie, and Karen Priest; sisters-in-law, Mora Jean Hammer and Betty McCauley; brother-in-law, Herk Bair; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son Steve McCauley; brother, Jess Hammer; grandson, Heath McCauley; brothers-in-law, Jack Ford and Chas McCauley; and sister-in-law, Norma Bair.
• Funeral services took place Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Burial took place at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
