ROLLA – Robert Clinton (Bob) Stewart, 82, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Baptist St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. 

He was born Oct. 19, 1942 to Theodore and Viola (Solf) Stewart in Alva, Okla.

He married Rachael Ann Lewis Oct. 26, 1968. She survives.

He served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969, serving one year in Vietnam. He ultimately finished his military service at Fort Campbell, Ky. and received an honorable discharge.

He worked 17 years for Panhandle Eastern, two years for Hugoton Energy, and then returned to farming, his favorite.

In 2017, he was honored and very proud to be able to participate in the Honor Flight program. 

He loved fishing, farming, and working as a mechanic. 

He was a member of the American Legion and the Rolla Methodist Church.

Survivors also include brother, Billy Stewart, Independence, Mo.; sister, Joyce Burris, Santee, Calif.; sister-in-law, Ruby Stewart, El Dorado; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wondora Schroeder; brother, George Stewart; brother-in-law, Harvey Schroeder; sister-in-law, Janet Stewart; nephews, Russ Schroeder and Phillip Schroeder; and nieces, Vicky Burris and Deanna Stewart.

• Graveside service and military rites will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Richfield Cemetery, with Reverend Wesley Young presiding. 

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2025 at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
