HUGOTON – Virginia Lou Skinner, 94, died Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Pioneer Manor.
She was born to Harold and Grace Hatfield March 14, 1931.
She married Darrell Skinner. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Belle Plaine High School.
She loved her yard of blooming flowers for each season.
She was an accomplished seamstress and quilt maker. She enjoyed crocheting, china painting, knitting and cooking.
She belonged to the Lone Star Friends Church, Rural Woods, and served the church in multiple roles across many years.
Survivors include daughter, Sheryl (Wes) Barricklow; daughter-in-law, Linda Skinner; three grandchildren: Jennifer Barricklow, Shawna (Laird) Riffel, and Clinton (Marcala) Skinner; five great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Riffel, Madison (Casey) Craver, Spencer Riffel, Ava Skinner, and Eli Skinner.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy; brother, Bud Hatfield; and sister, Gladys Haskell.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2025 at Lone Star Friends Church with Pastor James Tower presiding.
Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2025, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton.
