HUGOTON – Ralph R. Bane Jr., 90, died Monday, March 31, 2025.
He was born Dec. 15, 1934 to Ralph Bane Sr. and Leona Bane.
He married Jessie Lois Thompson July 5, 1955. She preceded him in death.
He married his current wife, Peggy, in 2007. She survives.
He graduated from Hugoton High School in 1954.
He was a devoted grandfather who reveled in spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a fan of the Hugoton Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys, and enjoyed watching his children participate in all types of sports.
Known for his ornery sense of humor and engaging conversation, he possessed an easy nature with short bursts of his maternal ancestry’s Hatfield spirit.
Survivors also include daughter, Kristi Naylor (Jim), El Dorado; stepsons, Donald Knier Jr. (Tonya), and David Knier; daughter-in-law, Theresa Cox; son-in-law, Jan Leonard; grandchildren: Tanner Bane, Wichita, Tristyn Swanson (Joshua), Lindsborg, Ian Baker, Kansas City, Ashley Knier (Ty), Megan Knier, Drake Knier, Allison Knier-Sondag (Matt), Kayla Knier (Justin), Krysta Knier, Brock Leonard (Nicole), and Justin Kemp (Jessica); and great-grandchildren: Bodhi Swanson, Lindsborg, Jackson Knier, Grayson Allen, Lilythe Knier, Hunter Sondag, Kali Findley, Payton Kemp, and Brynlee Kemp.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Kelli Wise and Kim Bane; and stepdaughter, Denise Leonard.
