JOHNSON – Katherine Marie Long Julian, 98, died Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson. 

She was born Jan. 26, 1927 to Ralph Ginter and Mabel Dorothy (Hague) Long.

She graduated from Johnson High School.

She married Milton Eugene Julian Aug. 22, 1947 in the Big Bow Pilgrim Holiness Church. He preceded her in death June 13, 2006. 

She was the bookkeeper and also helped with every aspect of the farming.

She became a member of the Johnson United Methodist Church, where she was a long-time Sunday School teacher.

She was a member of many boards and organizations, including 4-H Executive Board, 4-H Project and Community leader, United Methodist Women, Extension Homemakers Unit, and the Stanton County Museum Board, which she was also a founding member of.

Survivors include daughters: Miriam Parrish and husband, Darrell, Abilene, Texas, Rhonda Julian, Pagosa Springs, Colo., Glenda Thomas and husband, Jim, La Harpe, Ill., and Melody Julian and Ron Pridey, Laramie, Wy.; son, Rex Julian and wife, Sheri, Johnson; brothers, Claude Long, Bartlesville, Okla., and Keith Long, Sugarloaf, Ga.; sisters, Betty Anderson, Johnson, and Darlene Cate, Denver; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; great-granddaughter, Madison Bohannan; and niece, Marsha Anderson.

• Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, with Reverend Jacques Kambol presiding. 

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
