Ernesto Alaniz, Jr. 63, died Friday July 18, 2025 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Jan. 6, 1962 to Ernesto Alaniz Sr. and Josefina Ramirez.
He married Beatriz Medrano June 12, 2000. She survives.
He attended Hannah High School and James High School in Brownsville, Texas.
He worked in the maintenance department at National Beef Packing, then with Terry Rush.
He enjoyed fishing, watching the Food Network Channel, and sitting around the fire pit with his dogs, Chula and Cole.
Survivors also include sons, Isaac Alaniz and wife, Yuzby, and Gerson Gael Alaniz; three sisters: Susan Jasso, Sylvia Garza, and Sophia Ramirez; four grandsons: Elijah Liam Alaniz, Yadriel Alaniz, Jayden Gonzalez, and Abdiel Gonzalez; and granddaughter, Alayna Alaniz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ricky Alaniz; and sisters, Maria Elena Vela and Esther Garcia.
