ULYSSES – Josephine M. Taul, 93, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025 at Western Prairie Senior Living Memory Care in Ulysses.
She was born Feb. 28, 1932 to Salvador DeLa Rosa and Juanita Dee (Santiago) Sosa.
She married Joseph Robert Taul July 5, 1958. He preceded her in death.
She worked in a variety of positions over the years, including work with the Seward County Sheriff’s Office, Peoples National Bank, Grant County State Bank, Johnson State Bank, and First National Bank. She later served as an Administrative Assistant for the City of Ulysses.
She was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.
She was active in the Red Hat Society, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary,.
Survivors include daughter, Leona Diaz and husband, Mark, Ulysses; son, Trace Taul and wife, Karen, Wichita; siblings: Amalia Herrin, Valley Station, Ky., Salvador Sosa and wife, Sandy, Liberal, Victor Ledesma Sr., Gloria Hernandez and husband, Trine, Margarita Sosa, Johnny Sosa, and Mark Sosa and wife, Idalia; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Margarita Limon, Roberto Sosa, and John Sosa.
• Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2025 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, with Reverend Eric Gyamfi presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
