Jerry Lee Scott, son of Ezra LeRoy Scott and “Billie” Lillian Viola (Hughes) Scott began his life’s journey in Beaver, Okla. on Nov. 11, 1950. He was the light of Billie and LeRoy’s world.
Jerry worked with his dad on the farm and on many construction sites during his teen years. His ethics for hard work and determination were formed during those years.
He attended Eureka schools until his junior year of high school, when he transferred to Turpin. He graduated from Turpin High School as valedictorian of the Class of 1969.
He continued his education in pharmacy school at SWOSU in Weatherford, Okla. After graduating from pharmacy school in 1974, he came back to the Turpin area, where he worked at and owned several pharmaceutical businesses. He also worked at Southwest Medical Center. It was during this time that he met and married the love of his life, Leta Karen Bollinger. They were married March 11, 1977. As a result of this union, Jerry gained a bonus son, Shawn Thomas Crawford. Jerry and Karen were also blessed with a second son, Jared Trevor Scott.
The Scotts remained in Liberal until April 1991, when Jerry purchased C&R Clinic Pharmacy in Elkhart. He owned and operated the pharmacy until July 2022.
Jerry was also involved in the Church of God, Morton County Hospital, and the community of Elkhart.
He truly loved people and had a great sense of humor.
Jerry began his cancer journey in September 2021. He fought with grace and humility until Oct. 9, 2025, when he went home to Jesus Christ.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Shawn; his father-in-law, Tommy Bollinger; and his brothers-in-law, Rick Nevins and David Strickland.
Those who left to remember Jerry are his loving wife, Karen; son, Jared (Kelli); mother-in-law, Naomi Bollinger; sisters, Brenda Strickland and Beverly (Tom) Steers; sister-in-law, Debbie Nevins; grandchildren: Courtney (Wesley), Shaley, Clayson (Jackie), Seth (Taylor), Aubrey, Hadley, and Colbey; daughter-in-law, Valerie; five bonus grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
