JOHNSON – Coy Wendell Adams, 37, died Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colo. 

He was born March 22, 1987 to Troy Lynn and Cheryl Ann (Josserand) Adams.

He married Megan Renee Ainsworth April 28, 2012. She survives.

He graduated from Stanton County High School.

In his childhood years, he was a member of 4-H, a church praise band, and a self-taught drummer. He attended Kansas State University for two years with music as his choice of study. He was a member of the concert band, jazz band, and KSU marching band in which he played the cymbals and snare drum. 

While attending college he began his trade in landscaping for Blueville Landscape and Nursery in Manhattan. He took pride in his work and quickly became a master tradesman. 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and camping, often bringing along beloved Australian Shepherds, Sydney and Jessi.

Survivors also include his parents; brother, Tyson Adams and wife, Mandy; sister, Ashley Heatherman and husband, Joe; grandmother, Martha Adams; four nieces; one nephew; parents-in-law, Kent and Beverly Ainsworth; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Coy Wayne Adams, and O.W. and Nancy Josserand.

• Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, with Pastor Corbin Kellum presiding. 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
