“My son, keep my words and treasure my commandments within you… Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.” — Proverbs 7:1–3 (AMP)
In the world we live in, many things compete for our heart and spirit. Turn on the news or scroll social media and you are met with conflict, fear, and negativity. It is easy to lose sight of what matters most. It is easy to lose joy. It is easy to lose heart.
God knew this would happen. That is why He calls us to examine what we allow to shape our hearts—before we drift off course.
What we write on the tablet of our heart matters. The heart is central to the body; what flows from it circulates outward and affects everything else.
This is why God calls us to know His promises and commandments. When His Word is written across our hearts, it produces a steady circulation of peace, hope, and clarity.
“Remove sorrow from your heart and put away pain from your body… for life is fleeting.” — Ecclesiastes 11:9–10 (AMP, abridged)
Today, I encourage you to make time for God’s Word. Read your Bible. Pray. Choose what you allow to be written across your heart.
Let it be faith.
Let it be hope.
Let it be love.
