Those looking to get an early start on the holidays will soon have the chance to do just that soon.

This year's KSCB Holiday Home Show will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, and everything will be happening at the Seward County Activity Center at 810 Stadium Ave. As coordinator Cheryl Collins tells it, there will be a lot showcased that weekend.

“We'll have a lot of booths for home remodeling/repair with cabinets, siding, roofing, home exterior, garage doors, replacement windows, etc. We'll also have booths for knives and other cookware items, and those are always popular,” Collins said. “We'll also have booths for home water treatment systems and knife sharpening, which is also always really popular every year. Along with that home improvement, this time of year is also a good time to get started on that holiday shopping list for friends and family, so there will be booths for clothing and jewelry and makeup, as well as booths for home decor and candles and scented waxes and items like that. There will also be multiple food vendors there that weekend selling snacks and other goodies, so those should also be a hit with the people. There are also kid-centric booths that will have toys and games and all of that fun stuff for them. The craft room will also be filled with booths, so that'll just add on to everything people will be able to look at. We'll also have the Big H BBQ food truck selling food to everyone. Where else can you have this much of a variety of items for sale in one space in this part of the state? We've been hosting this show for a long time, and we've got regulars who come every year specifically because they know a certain booth or booths will be there. That weekend is also when KSCB-The Legend will also be kicking off its Christmas promotion, and we'll be giving at least $750 to a lucky person in the community after that concludes – there will be a big party Dec. 19 at Bank of Beaver City, and that's when we'll draw the winner. And to make it even better, if the winner is there in person, they'll walk away with $1,000.”

And with the show approaching rapidly, Collins encouraged potential vendors to sign up and sign up quickly.

“The maximum number  of booths we can put in the main hall is 106, and 96 of those booth spaces are currently reserved, so we don't have a lot of booths left,” Collins said. “If you've been thinking, at all, something along the lines of 'We make these neat crafts and we'd love to see more people at something like that,' I would say absolutely go for it, and get signed up quick because we don't have too much more space. Anyone interested in having a booth just needs to call KSCB-The Legend at (620) 624-3891 or email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., and we'll get the form to you.”

Putting the show together every year is always a busy but ultimately rewarding experience, Collins said.

“I will be honest, the show takes a lot of time and work every year to put on, and it can be stressful for us and our staff, and it's almost like putting together a giant puzzle with a bunch of pieces that have to fit exactly right,” Collins said. “But we've become really good friends with several of the business owners who come to our show every year, and there's always that feeling of 'I can't wait to see you again!' We've built that rapport with them, and it's amazing seeing them every year. It's a challenge every year, but we love seeing all the shoppers come through the Seward County Activity Center and interacting with them, and we love seeing all the business owners every year and seeing how they're doing. I also can't express enough how much we love working with the Seward County Activity Center employees, because they are so amazing, they're so accommodating, and they go above and beyond to make sure everything's set up right and ready to go. It's really the people who make this event so fun and successful every year.”
