One Liberal woman and five Liberal youth suffered injuries of varying degrees in an accident Thursday afternoon in eastern Seward County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 2011 Town and Country was eastbound on Road 13 near Road Y when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle lost control.
KHP said the vehicle went left of center and continued into the north ditch. It then tripped and rolled an unknown number of times, coming to rest upright and facing westbound in the north ditch.
The driver, Isabel Ralios, 31, of Liberal, was taken to Southwest Medical Center with a possible injury after she complained of pain. KHP said she was wearing her seat belt at the time.
Three passengers, Genesis Gaspar, 6, Juana Ralios, 17, and Ana Calo Ramirez, 11, all of Liberal, were also taken to SWMC with possible injuries after complaining of pain. KHP said all were wearing seat belts at the time.
Another passenger, 2-year-old Lorenzo Ramirez Chacon of Liberal, was taken to SWMC with a suspected serious injury. KHP said he was not wearing his seat belt at the time.
The last passenger, Maria Calo Ramirez, 7, of Liberal, was taken to SWMC with a suspected minor injury, and KHP likewise said she was not wearing her seat belt at the time.
