A Minnesota woman is dead following a fatality accident Thursday afternoon in Meade County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Cadillac CTS was westbound around 4:45 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 54 near the intersection with U.S. Highway 160, and a 2022 Toyota Tundra was eastbound also on Hwy. 54. KHP said the Cadillac went left of center and struck the Tundra.
The Cadillac’s driver, 35-year-old Ashley M. Brooker of Stillwater, Minn., was taken to St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, where she was later pronounced dead. The Tundra’s driver, Korin Hutchisson, 49, of El Paso, Texas, suffered a suspected minor injury in the accident.
KHP said Hutchisson was wearing his seat belt at the time, but Brooker was not.
