Kansas Department of Transportation

The Kansas Department of Transportation has begun an intersection improvement project at the U.S. Highway 54/U.S. Highway 283 intersection in Minneola.

The intersection will be surfaced with concrete pavement and will improve traffic flow. Hwy. 54 traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction at the intersection.

All lanes within the work zone area on Hwy. 54 and Hwy. 283 will be restricted to 12 feet. Access to all businesses within the work area will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. Motorists should expect minor delays of up to five to 10 minutes.

Smoky Hill LLC of Salina is the contractor on this $960,680.94 project, which is expected to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting.

For more information on this project, contact David Ubel, Construction Manager, at (620) 682-7938, or Yazmin Moreno, KDOT Southwest Region Public Affairs Manager, at (620) 260-6397.
