Plans are under way for the Fourth of July celebration in Liberal which will start with a 10 a.m. parade and continue with activities in Light Park until 4 p.m. Then the Bee Jays will host Dodge City at 7 p.m., and fireworks will follow the game.
There is no cost to be part of the parade.
The parade theme is “Guardians of Freedom” to honor all of those who have worn the nation’s uniform in a variety of branches. Anyone who has served is invited and encouraged to participate and be recognize for their service.
The parade invites those who design floats, vehicles, golf carts, walking exhibits, clubs, organizations, businesses and any other group to celebrate.

The parade and park activities are provided by the Fourth of July Committee in conjunction with the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution.
The Day in the Park will include vendors, music, Little Miss Firecracker contest, Adventure Bay buyout sponsored by National Beef, and more.
