Special to the Leader & Times
The community is invited to celebrate Independence Day in style with this year’s 4th of July Day in the Park, taking place at Light Park beginning at 11 a.m., immediately after the annual parade.
The event promises a full day of family-friendly fun, with local vendors offering food, handmade crafts, lemonade, snow cones, and a variety of other festive treats. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, relax, and enjoy the summer atmosphere with family and friends.
A highlight of the celebration will be the Little Miss Firecracker Contest, adding a touch of tradition and hometown charm to the day’s events. Clarissa Carrillo, Miss Ad Astra 2024, will be helping with the contest judging.
“We’re excited to bring back the festivities to Light Park this year, especially after not being able to host them last year,” organizers said.
National Beef Packing LLC sponsored free admission at Adventure Bay Water Park from 1 to 7 p.m. All community members are invited to cool off and enjoy the water park at no charge that day.
Local vendors and small businesses are also invited to take part in the celebration. Whether selling food, crafts, handmade goods, or summer refreshments, this event offers a valuable opportunity to connect with the community and be part of a well-attended local tradition.
The vendor fee is just $20, making it an affordable way to promote local products and services.
To reserve a booth or learn more, interested vendors should contact Claudia Garcia at (620) 391-6820. Early sign-up is encouraged.
