Southwest Medical Center is excited to announce that Expanse Patient Connect has now officially gone live, bringing patients a new and improved way to receive communication from their healthcare team.

The features being launched will be text message appointment reminders for all scheduled appointments, two-way messaging, and multilingual support in up to 19 languages helping patients stay informed and prepared for their visits. These reminders will be sent directly to a patient’s phone — no app downloads or portal logins required.

Integrated directly with the MEDITECH Expanse Electronic Health Record (EHR), Expanse Patient Connect will also allow patients to confirm or cancel appointments with a simple reply, helping reduce no-shows and improve scheduling efficiency.

Benefits of Expanse Patient Connect include:

• Convenient, real-time appointment reminders via text message

• Easy confirmation or cancellation by replying to the message

• Support in 19 languages, eliminating communication barriers

• Streamlined staff workflows and reduced missed appointments

"This launch marks a big step forward in patient communication," MIS Director Dana Olson said. "Starting today, patients will receive timely reminders right on their phones, making it easier than ever to keep track of their healthcare appointments and stay connected with us."

The implementation of Expanse Patient Connect will be completed in phases, with additional features to roll out later this year, further enhancing patient engagement and improving the overall healthcare experience.
