Kansas Department of Transportation

The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a bridge repair project along U.S. Highway 56 in Haskell County this week over the Cimarron River northeast of the Haskell/Seward County line.

Traffic along U.S. 56 will be reduced to one lane to allow bridge repair work to take place. Motorists should expect minimal delays.

Temporary traffic signals will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone, and signs and cones will mark the lane reduction. The traffic signals and an 11-foot-width restriction will be in effect throughout the project.

Reece Construction Co. of Salina is the contractor on this $291,063.13 project that is expected to be completed by the beginning of October, conditions permitting.

For more information, contact Simon Valdez, construction manager, 620-417-7706
