Two Tyrone, Okla., teens were injured in an accident Monday evening in northeast Texas County, Okla.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported around 5:20 p.m. Monday, a 2006 Chevy Cobalt was eastbound on U.S. Highway 54 just less than two miles northeast of Tyrone.

OHP said the vehicle departed the roadway to the right, drove into a ditch and rolled about three times, landing on the vehicle’s tires.

Two 16-year-old females from Tyrone were transported from the scene by Tyrone EMS to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal. The driver was treated and released for trunk internal injuries.

A passenger was later flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita where she was admitted in stable condition for trunk internal injuries.

Seat belts were equipped and in use by both occupants. Names of the individuals were withheld.
