In 2024, Liberal’s Bienestar Total hosted the Empoderate Mujer women’s conference, and this year, Seward County United Way is hosting the next edition of the conference, this time entitled “The Power of Being a Woman.”
Scheduled for Nov. 14 at the Liberal Conference Center, the conference will feature many fun activities, and SCUW Director Patricia Fierro said the event is a day of women empowerment in Spanish.
“We will be having music by Hector Escutia, a soloist, and we will have Reyna Diaz,” she said. “She is a nurse practitioner at the Family Care Center. She will be talking to us about self-love and taking care of ourselves physically, mentally and spiritually. We will also have music from DJ Studio 81, and we’ll have our guest speaker, Cibad Hernandez. He is an influencer and Tik Tokker. He does conferences for women empowerment.”
Doors will open at 6 p.m. Nov. 14, with the event starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are available by scanning the QR code on the event flyer on the Seward County United Way Facebook page. Tickets are limited, so Fierro said those who want to come to get their tickets soon.
Fierro said last year’s conference went well, and she expects similar results this year.
“We only had Cibad and the DJ, but this year, we’re making it a full conference so it can be more well rounded and have a professional speak about self-care,” she said.
Fierro said conference participants will learn more about themselves, including being able to be comfortable in their own skin and creating inner peace sometimes needed in a person’s life. She said those who come will leave empowered, full of energy, with a different mindset and loving themselves a lot more.
“This is only for them, but it also helps us as mothers, as daughters, as coworkers, as wives,” she said.
Fierro too believes this year’s conference will be just as impactful as last year’s.
“Since we have more to offer, I think they’re going to take a lot more from it this time,” she said.
