April 2024 saw McKensie Hood open a new Edward Jones location at 23 Professional Drive and last week, the office welcomed Sarah Miller to its staff.
As Miller tells it, she is no stranger to the financial world.
“I've been with Edward Jones for the past 11 years, I started with the company in March 2015. I worked as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) previously, and I took over an office from a gentleman when he decided to retire,” Miller said. “I was asked if I wanted to join Edward Jones, and it ultimately ended up being a good move for me. My former office was on 11th Street, I'd been with Byron Bird and Associates for 20 years before going out on my own and ultimately joining the company. This is just another way for me to help clients. That's what I did when I was a CPA, I helped with taxes and those issues, and now I'm helping clients with their retirement.”
It was only a couple years ago when the idea of moving to a new space started to percolate, Miller said.
“Before, Edward Jones' policy was one financial advisor and one branch office administrator, and they eventually decided it made sense for advisors to share real estate. McKensie had bought this office and asked if I would be interested in joining, but my lease on my previous location wasn't up yet, so I couldn't,” Miller said. “When my lease did expire, I needed to do some remodeling and started thinking now would be a good time to move in. Having other people in the office is great, we can bounce ideas off of each other and ask questions, and we all get along, so it's just an overall great environment. Everything's gone very smoothly since I started in here, and I'm really happy. I'm definitely not planning on going anywhere anytime soon. This is a wonderful space, it's a beautiful office, and it's just a great location. My clients have told me they love it, so this is definitely where I'll stay.”
Miller said she is looking forward to helping clients in town.
“We're doing more financial planning services now, so it's a more holistic approach to everything and putting their entire picture together so they have everything in place for when they want to retire,” Miller said. “I'm excited to help people with their retirement. That's always been my goal, to do what's best for the client and help make them comfortable in retirement and help them achieve other financial goals they have.”
Overall, Miller said, she is excited to help clients in her new space.
“We work with anyone and everyone. I know it can be a little intimidating to walk into a financial advisor's office when you don't know even where to begin, but just come in and ask us any questions you have, and we'll be happy to help you,” Miller said. “I've got some really great clients already, and I hope to see a lot of new clients come through my new doors. I also want to wish everyone a safe and happy and healthy holiday season, and I look forward to seeing everyone at my new office.”
