Emily Reimer has spent much of her life doing faith-based work.
She worked for many years at Hugoton’s Peace House Ministry before attending Apostolic Faith Bible College, where she took part in a discipleship program that taught her not only how to grow her faith, but to hear the voice of God.
At Peace House Ministries, Reimer spent much time cooking and cleaning and assisting co-founder Patty Bultman.
Reimer has also been friends with Rhonda Kinser, who now serves as the client services director for Liberal’s Grace Place Pregnancy Care Center, and after asking Kinser about her job, Kinser invited her to come for an interview at Grace Place.
Now, Reimer is the assistant director for Grace Place, and she said in addition to Kinser, her faith and wanting to serve God in any way possible brought her to the center.
Reimer said Kinser is a large part of what her job entails.
“A lot of my job is assisting Rhonda in everything she needs done and doing different things like answering the phone and being the first contact person for anyone walking in or calling,” she said.
As for goals, Reimer said she simply wants to better serve Grace Place and grow her job in more creative ways.
“My job is very straight forward,” she said. “I want to be able to do a little more creativity and do more of those kinds of things.”
Though she is not involved in planning events at Grace Place, Reimer did say the center does have some new events possibly coming up in the near future.
“We’re talking about having a table at the Dodge City Sanctity for Life Walk, and we’ve been thinking about doing some tables and booths at the different parades for Liberal,” she said.
In addition to some new workers, Grace Place has undergone some recent renovations, including the addition of its Limited Medical Clinic, and as the center continues to grow, Reimer said she feels she can make a great impact on that growth.
“When there’s things that need done, I tend to do what needs done whether it’s within my job description or not,” she said.
