Seward County Community College

Seward County Community College is hiring for head of Saints athletics following the departure of Athletic Director Dan Artamenko. In his letter of resignation, Artamenko said his next steps will be to focus on employment at a four-year institution.

“We appreciate Dan’s role in helping SCCC move to a growth-oriented approach in athletics,” SCCC President Brad Bennett said. “During his five years at Seward, we added men’s and women’s soccer, eSports, and completed the Sharp Family Champions Center to enable further growth in baseball and softball.”

Artamenko’s tenure took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, and he served on the SCCC response team.

Bennett said SCCC evaluated the needs of Saints athletics before posting a new position of Associate Vice President of Athletics, currently accepting applications.

“We like to take a close look at how our organization is functioning, and what needs might have changed every time a role opens,” Bennett said.

The AVPA will oversee and lead all athletic activities including revenue development, planning, fundraising, and budget development and management. The AVPA will also serve as primary liaison to the Jayhawk Conference and conference administrators.
