Authorities are investigating a fatality wreck that killed a Dallas woman early Friday morning in Cimarron County, Okla.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the accident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. Friday on U.S. Highway 287 and U.S. Highway 412 on an overpass about one mile east of Boise City, Okla.

A 2009 International semi and 2022 Chevy Blazer were involved. The driver of the semi, 58-year-old Benjamin Arrelanos Romero of Fort Worth, was not injured.

The Blazer’s driver, Jaymathen Cooper, 24, of Dallas, was transported by ambulance to Cimarron Memorial Hospital in Boise City. He was then flown to Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas, where he was admitted in stable condition with head and arm injuries.

A passenger in the Blazer, 25-year-old Diamond Lester of Dallas, was transported by ambulance to Cimarron Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 2 a.m. Friday.

Two children in the Blazer, ages 1 and 7 of Dallas, were both transported to Cimarron Memorial Hospital and flown to Northwest Texas Healthcare System. Neither was injured in the wreck.

The cause of the accident and the condition of the drivers are under investigation. Seat belts were in use by both drivers and by Lester, and child restraints were in use in the Blazer. OHP did say the 1-year-old was pinned and extricated from the vehicle.
