Kansas Department of  Transportation

According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, traffic changes are anticipated to start Monday along Kansas Highway 96 from the Lane/Ness county line east to east city limits of Ness City.

K-96 traffic will be reduced to one lane in sections as they work to resurface this 18.32-mile-long project area.

Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes as flaggers and a pilot car direct one-lane traffic through the work zone.

The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. K-96 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.

Venture Corporation of Great Bend is the contractor on this $4 million project. Weather permitting, it is expected to be completed by the beginning of October.
