Terms like “Ultra MAGA” are designed to denigrate those who support Donald Trump and to characterize them as dangerous to democracy and the American system of government.

It’s all a joke, of course.

For one, Trump faced opposition in the Republican primary before securing enough votes to become the Republican nominee for president.

Last I checked, open elections are the cornerstone to democracy. Open elections, that is, with protections from illegal voting and overvoting.

Joe Biden was the Democratic Party nominee for doing the same thing — winning the primary race.

The difference between the two was the Republican Party allowed any Republican to enter.

The Democratic Primary did not. Robert Kennedy was not allowed to run in the primary against Biden.

Does that sound like democracy?

And then, after securing the nomination, Biden was forced out after a poor performance in the June debate against Trump.

Forced out how, and by who?

Sometimes it’s called a “Castle Coup,” but the Democratic Party insiders and donors led by Nancy Pelosi forced Biden out.

That means there would be a Democratic process to replace him, right?

Wrong.

The Democrats anointed Kamala Harris without a challenge or a primary, and at the convention she was given the support of the delegates originally designated for Biden to secure the nomination.

Democracy at its finest. A major political party selects a candidate who has yet to ever win one state in a presidential primary.

Remember, Trump and Republicans are the threat to democracy, not Harris and the Democrats.

Another key component to our system of government is the filibuster, a tool used in the Senate that requires 60 senators instead of 51 to support a bill.

This tool has kept the nation from making drastic political changes, swaying back and forth with the whims of the day and making sure that at least 60 senators support any specific proposal.

Harris has said she wants to do away with that so she can push through her climate change agenda as well as eliminate voter identification.

That will protect democracy, right?

Over and over the policies of the left are designed to strengthen government and weaken the states and the people.

The Founders felt very different, believeing the government should fear the people rather than the people fear the government.

But recently a new left wing proposal highlights just how much control Democrats really want.

Liberal author Fran Lebowitz made a guest appearance on “Real Time” with Bill Maher.

During that appearance, Lebowitz floated another far left idea — dissolve the Supreme Court of the United States.

Let’s first take a look at just how insane that is from a Constitutional standpoint.

Our unique system has three equal branches of government — the legislative, executive and judicial.

These branches provide a check on each other, to make sure that no branch becomes more powerful than another or attempts to violate the Constitution.

The Supreme Court reviews the actions of Congress and the president to determine if those actions are Constitutional.

Depending on which president appoints justices, a court may be considered liberal or conservative.

For decades the court was liberal including when cases that changed America during the Great Depression and even in the early 1970s with the Roe v. Wade decision making abortion legal with the ability to restrict it at the point of viability of the child.

Many conservatives disagreed with those decisions, but that’s how the court works.

When Trump was president, he was able to appoint three justices.

Again, that’s how it works.

Because the far left despises Trump, they want to remove the legacy he has left on the court in any way they can, including either increasing the number of justices on the court to 15 and appointing six liberal justices, or as Lebowitz has proposed, dissolving the court.

For the record, dissolving the court is tantamount to insurrection and a complete abandonment of the Constitution. Dissolving courts is a first step for many socialist nations. Courts will protect the people from the government, and socialists can’t have that. They need to rule without checks, and that’s why comments like this are dangerous but telling.

It’s not acceptable to the liberal left to have a court not rubber stamp their every move.

They aren’t happy that the court has thumbed down Biden’s illegal attempt to cancel student debt, or prevented government agencies from creating rules and fines against the American people without due process.

They are furious that the court has stated that presidents can’t be caught up in court cases while doing their official duties as president.

They can’t stand that the court ruled that states have to decide the abortion issue because the federal government doesn’t have the Constitutional authority.

Because they have lost on these issues in court, they want to dissolve the court entirely.

Democrat John Kerry recently said the First Amendment is a problem for the government’s attempt to control the news.

This is why this election is so important.

The liberal left isn’t pretending to support freedom issues any more. They are outright advocating for government intrusion. Make sure you know the real threats to democracy.
