There are times no matter how we dress that we cannot escape the realities of nature.
If you identify as a woman but have male anatomy below the belt, you will still need to see a urologist at some time in your life, and more than likely you will need your prostate examined. That reality of your body doesn’t know that you identify as someone else. Anatomy unaffected by the hormonal drugs that may result in breast growth and emotional changes cannot mask the other realities of what your body is, not what you want it to be.
Likewise if you identify as a man but need to see a gynecologist because of the unique physical conditions you may experience, your body is telling a different story than your desire to identify as something else.
That reality doesn’t prevent you from being able to present yourself however you want to present yourself. This is America, after all, and your freedom operates free and independent of my freedom. That also means I am not obligated to call you any specific name or gender just because you want me to do so. My freedom also operates independently form yours.
And if your anatomy cannot deny nature or proper health care, that same reality exists when it comes to competition.
We are pretending that boys and girls sports are somehow determined by our identity rather than our anatomy.
Small, skinny dudes who hate sports are still small, skinny dudes who hate sports, and a burly gal who can wield an axe with ease is still a burly gal.
When we compete, we are competing based on the realities of nature, not on what uniform we like best or who we want to date after the game is over.
Those decisions are equally decided by those who choose to participate in the date.
The reason we have different classifications has nothing to do with that and everything to do with nature.
Females develop very differently than males for whatever reason nature intended. Whether some of us believe those differences to be divine while others believe the two evolved from cosmic sludge that learned to walk, there is no denying the fact that reproduction only occurs when an egg provided by a person with XX chromosomes is combined with sperm from a person with an XY chromosome.
There is absolutely no other way for a human to reproduce.
Whether we call the teams boy and girls or XX and XY, they are divided based on those undeniable natural facts. It has nothing to do with how someone feels or identifies any more than a man who identifies as a girl will be asked to leave the gynecologists office when requesting a vaginal exam on a penis. You can’t feel your way into that transition.
Our divisions should be based simply on the chromosomal facts.
Some may try to claim there are individuals born with discrepancies to the XX and XY markers. That’s true in about one in 2,000 births. In those cases a panel should be able to determine with the individual which category in which to compete.
But for the 1,999 of every 2,000, that is not the case, and it is normal XX and XY simply identifying as the opposite that makes up the vast majority of those trying to compete in another chromosomal class.
This does not discriminate against anyone, because everyone is allowed to compete. And competition has nothing to do with identity but natural reality. Wanting to play with the XX class does not make one XX class. Competition has nothing to do with sex and everything to do with physical reality.
It’s time we put this issue to rest and recognize the natural facts when it comes to athletics. Everyone gets to play, but the divisions are not based on what you wear or how you feel. It is about XX and XY. Period.
We should all support the natural truth about ourselves and protect XX form XY competing in their classification. Our lawmakers and policy makers should simplify this issue by adopting sports rules divided by XX and XY.
