The Lady Redskins traveled to Great Bend Thursday for a double header against Great Bend and dropped both games to fall to 3-4 on the season.
Liberal had a pair of home runs in Game 1 but fell 10-6.
The Lady Redskins scored two runs in the first, but the Lady Panthers responded in the bottom of the second with five runs to take a 5-2 lead.
Great Bend added single runs in the third and fourth, and the Lady Redskins scored a run in the fourth to trail 7-3. But the Lady Redskins pushed three more across the plate in the top of the third to cut the Great Bend to just one, 7-6.
The Lady Panthers added three more runs in the sixth, and the Lady Redskins could not add any more runs in the 10-6 loss.
A. Champion pitches five and a third innings and allowed nine runs on 13 hits and a walk. The Lady Panthers also had three home runs.
Zoey Torres relieved champion and allowed one run in two thirds of an inning and walked one.
B. Short led the Lady Redskins at the plate with two hits including a home run. M. Janko also had a home run in the loss.
In Game 2 the Lady Redskins had 11 hits to Great Bend’s 13 but fell 17-6.
H. Lyon took the circle for the Lady Redskins and had a decent start, but the Lady Panthers scored five in the third and six in the fourth to take a 13-2 lead.
D. Carter came in relief and allowed four runs on three hits in an inning and a third, and Great Bond won by run rule in the fifth, 17-6.
Janko and Torres each had a home run in the loss.
Liberal (3-4) will face Maize (8-2) and McPherson (12-0) Tuesday.
